About the position

The Spanish Immersion Teacher at Guidepost Montessori will nurture Toddlers and Preschool-aged children in a Montessori environment, focusing on their growth, exploration, and independence. This role involves supporting a mixed-age classroom, providing personalized guidance, and fostering an environment that encourages children to explore and learn at their own pace.

Responsibilities

  • Observe each child closely to understand and meet their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
  • Prepare a beautiful, orderly environment that fosters trust, exploration, deep learning, and independence.
  • Cultivate independence and self-confidence by helping children ‘do it all by themselves'.
  • Provide lessons to encourage practical life skills, language, and grace and courtesy.
  • Form personal connections with each child and cultivate a community of respect.
  • Communicate and collaborate respectfully with parents to provide the best possible care for every child.

Requirements

  • Interest in pursuing certified Montessori training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute or previously obtained a Montessori diploma.
  • Experience working with children ages 0-6 in a group setting such as daycare, aftercare, or nursery.
  • Familiarity with child-led philosophies such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori and/or open to learning more.
  • Some college with a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development units.
  • Earned a Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a Montessori environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
