About the position

KUNW/KVVK/KORX is seeking a dedicated and skilled Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) to join our team in Yakima, WA. As an MMJ, you will play a crucial role in delivering news stories that inform and engage our audience. Your primary responsibilities will include reporting, shooting, and editing news stories, as well as generating original story ideas and developing valuable contacts within the community. You will be expected to produce daily content across various platforms, including television, the internet, social networking sites, and mobile devices. This position requires a proactive approach to news gathering and storytelling, ensuring that our content is timely, relevant, and of the highest quality. In this role, you will be responsible for not only creating compelling news stories but also for maintaining a strong presence in the community. You will need to demonstrate sharp news judgment and the ability to tell stories in a style that aligns with NPPA standards. Excellent technical skills are essential, as you will be working with various multimedia tools and equipment to capture and edit video content. The ability to work independently is crucial, as you will often be tasked with managing your own assignments and deadlines. Additionally, you must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record to fulfill the requirements of this position.

Responsibilities
