About the position

The Spanish Long Term Substitute Teacher position is designed for a qualified educator to fill in for a teacher of Spanish for grades 9-12 at the high school level during the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Spanish, adhering to the New Jersey World Language Standards and the ACTFL Standards. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring that all students have access to a rigorous and differentiated curriculum that meets their diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate for teaching Spanish and demonstrate a strong understanding of the 2020 NJ World Language Standards. Experience with Danielson's Framework for Teaching is considered a plus, as it aligns with the district's instructional goals. The candidate should be prepared to collaborate with fellow department members to enhance the educational experience and contribute to the overall success of the language program. Additionally, the candidate should have a background in implementing Google Apps for Education, which is essential for modern teaching practices. Knowledge of World Language Honors Societies and Dual Enrollment opportunities will be advantageous, as these elements are integral to the high school curriculum. The position requires successful clearance of a criminal history background check, and all substitutes must be approved by the Board of Education. This position is effective for the entire 2024-2025 school year, with a salary structure that begins at $130.00 per day for the first 20 days and increases to $308.00 per day from day 21 onwards, pending negotiations.   • Successful clearance of criminal history.
