About the position
The Spanish Speak Nurse - RN at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, plays a crucial role in supporting plasma center operations. This full-time position involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The nurse will work under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and the Center Physician, contributing to the collection of high-quality plasma that is essential for life-changing medicines.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility for plasma donation, including informed consent and medical history interviews.
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Support vaccination programs for employees, including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
- Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health or emergency services as needed.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of responsibility.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
