The School Teacher implements the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The School Teacher maintains a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and establishes effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management. The School Teacher works effectively with the building administrator and other teachers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include meeting and instructing assigned classes in the locations and at times designated, creating and implementing instructional plans in accordance with the district curriculum, and maintaining a classroom climate that is conducive to learning. The teacher is responsible for maintaining reasonable rules which encourage self-discipline and responsibility, guiding the learning process toward the achievement of the school curriculum and goals, and implementing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media. The School Teacher must acquaint themselves with and adhere to the policies and procedures as established by the Board of Education and Administration in written or verbal form. They are also responsible for creating and implementing response to Intervention programs as needed, taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, and maintaining records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Additionally, the teacher assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, serves as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive attitude, positive and respectful communication, and professional appearance. They hold and communicate high expectations of student achievement and behavior, attend staff meetings and IEP Meetings as requested by the district, and meet expected standards of professional behavior. The teacher administers assessments on a timely basis as directed by administration, communicates effectively with parents when needed, provides individualized and small group instruction as prescribed in the daily instructional plans, and maintains a professional and positive rapport with parents, co-workers, administration, and the School Board. Finally, the teacher supervises classroom students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers.
