About the position
This position is for a part-time Children's Language and Music Teacher, specifically seeking individuals who are bilingual performing artists, musicians, or students with a passion for working with children. The role involves teaching language classes to children aged 6 months to 5 years old through music, movement, and puppetry. The ideal candidates will be fluent in Spanish, French, or Mandarin and will have the ability to engage young children in a fun and interactive manner. The classes will take place in various locations across New York City, including Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Staten Island. The program is set to begin in September and October, and applicants must be available for a consistent weekly schedule from September to June. The job requires a commitment of 5-15 hours per week, with classes scheduled during the day, either in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm or in the afternoon from 3 pm to 5 pm. Candidates should be able to sing while playing an instrument, such as a guitar, ukulele, or keyboard, and have a background in theatre is considered a plus.
