About the position

The Chino Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Spanish Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Spanish to secondary students, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to foster a comprehensive understanding of the language and its cultural context. In this role, you will teach essential skills in aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. You will also be responsible for developing lesson plans that align with the district's instructional philosophy and curriculum. Your teaching will not only focus on language skills but also on instilling an appreciation for the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. You will evaluate student progress and provide feedback through progress reports, ensuring that each student is meeting their learning objectives. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, monitor student activities, and encourage students to take responsibility for their learning materials. You will also have the opportunity to create bulletin boards and displays that motivate students and enhance their learning experience. Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish language skills to secondary students, including aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and instructional philosophy.
  • Evaluate student progress and prepare progress reports based on their performance in language skills.
  • Create engaging classroom displays and bulletin boards to motivate students in language learning.
  • Monitor classroom environment to ensure safety and cleanliness, addressing any issues with the principal.
  • Instruct students on the care and safe operation of electronic equipment used in language instruction.
  • Provide students with opportunities for daily patriotic observance as per Education Code 52720.

Requirements

  • Valid California Single Subject Foreign Language Credential: Spanish
  • English Learner Authorization
  • Detailed credential information including document number, authorization code, and expiration date.
