The Co-op School is seeking an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher to join our team. This is a truly unique opportunity to work closely with our team in developing and refining the Spanish project-based and anti-bias curriculum for the Spanish program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Middle School Spanish classes and Lower School Spanish workshops, while also taking on an advisory role with students. The Co-op School, founded in 2003, has evolved from a small, parent-run playgroup into a fully staffed and licensed non-profit school, now housing preschool, lower school, and middle school students under one roof. Our mission is to inspire passion and teach children to become protagonists in their own educational journey by fostering their innate sense of curiosity and creativity. We facilitate joyful learning through a unique and rigorous constructivist approach that honors the individual interests and strengths of each child. In this role, the Spanish teacher will develop and refine the Spanish curriculum, utilizing a variety of assessments to measure student learning and drive instruction. The teacher will monitor student progress and provide support during WIN periods, assisting students with classwork and homework, or creating differentiated activities. Additionally, the teacher will assist with advisory duties, provide coverage as needed, and actively participate in the learning community through teacher committees, peer observations, and planning meetings. Collaboration with other teachers, learning specialists, and the division head is essential to provide high-quality, differentiated instruction to all children. Regular communication with families and maintaining positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues is also a key aspect of this position. The teacher will integrate The Co-op School Values into classroom culture and lessons, and create a positive and safe classroom environment informed by the Responsive Classroom approach.
