Responsibilities

• Preparing motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, adolescent development, and student interests and abilities.
• Employing a variety of teaching methods to engage a diverse set of learners with different backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles.
• Encouraging an inclusive classroom that accepts the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of the students.
• Analyzing classroom data to develop effective lessons and instructional activities.
• Demonstrating a desire to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom.
• Assuming other work-related duties as specified (lunch duty, homeroom coverage, attendance at school events, etc.).
• Demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
• Supporting students with identified social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs, as well as students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
• Communicating effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Attending and participating appropriately in full and departmental/team faculty meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (minimum)
• Prior Spanish teaching experience (1 year required)
• Experience teaching high school Spanish (Grades 9-12) preferred.
