About the position

City on a Hill Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated Spanish Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, which marks the school's final year of operation. The role involves teaching four sections of Spanish, with various preparations based on the results of summer school and the final school schedule. The teacher will collaborate with the Spanish department to plan lessons, create and update lesson plans, and ensure all materials are saved to the City on a Hill server. The position requires the implementation of school-wide systems, including beginning of class routines, merits/demerits, and writing across the curriculum, as well as any additional academic initiatives that may be introduced at the school. The Spanish Teacher will maintain accurate and transparent records of student work in the school's Student Information System and design high-quality assessments of student learning. Participation in all Town Meetings, department day meetings, and weekly faculty meetings is mandatory, along with attendance at grade level and IEP meetings for students in all sections. The teacher will also participate in subject and/or grade level field trips, quarterly parent/advisor nights, graduation, and other required school events. Additionally, the teacher will be a member of an assigned Professional Development Group and will participate in City on a Hill's Peer Observation Program. Collaboration with Special Education (SpEd) and English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers is essential to ensure appropriate adjustments to curriculum, instruction, and assessment are implemented, and attendance at Learning Network team meetings for all students in sections is required. Other duties may be assigned by the Principal or Vice Principal.
