About the position

We are seeking a passionate Spanish Teacher to join our educational institution, dedicated to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Spanish language and culture, and will be responsible for developing lesson plans, providing academic advising, and enhancing the learning experience through interactive activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cover various aspects of the Spanish language and culture
• Utilize instructional design techniques to create effective teaching materials
• Provide academic advising to students regarding their progress and performance
• Incorporate research-based strategies to enhance the learning experience
• Conduct tutoring sessions to support students in mastering Spanish language skills
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and improvement
• Engage students through interactive activities and discussions that promote literacy education

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Masters Degree in the field of education preferred
• NYS teaching certification preferred
• Experience in a high performing charter or district school preferred but not required
• Strong classroom management skills
• Strong knowledge of Common Core
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff
• Intermediate to advanced Spanish language skills preferred
• Proficient in use of technology, including various G Suite teaching tools
