About the position

Our campus has an immediate opening for a part-time Spanish Teacher. This position provides a student-centered, supportive classroom that promotes compassion and tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach. The role is designed to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and support. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in Spanish 1 through Spanish 3 for students in grades 6-12, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. The teacher will also maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents to foster a collaborative educational experience. Professional development and continuous improvement are key components of this role, as the teacher will engage in ongoing training and reflection to enhance their teaching practices. Additionally, significant student mentoring is a vital aspect of this position, allowing the teacher to build meaningful relationships with students and support their overall growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Spanish language instruction and be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately. They should be outgoing, well-organized, and competent in basic computer skills, eager to work in a dynamic and energetic school setting. The Spanish Teacher will contribute to the campus community and practice professionalism through ongoing development and reflection. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the educational mission of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of Spanish 1 through Spanish 3 at grade levels 6-12.
  • Adapt and differentiate instruction for all students to promote holistic growth.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress.
  • Develop and maintain genuine, positive, and consistent communication with parents.
  • Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.
  • Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in significant student mentoring.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration.
  • Higher level Spanish background is necessary.
  • Solid subject matter knowledge in Spanish 1 through Spanish 3 at grade levels 6-12.
  • Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus.
  • Mentoring experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
