About the position

Ashland Middle School is looking for a dedicated Spanish Teacher to join its World Language Department. The role involves delivering engaging and effective Spanish instruction to students in grades 6-8, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and curriculum standards. The teacher will utilize various instructional methods and online resources to create a supportive learning environment, while also participating in professional development and school activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the delivery of appropriate Spanish instruction in grades 6-8 in accordance with department goals and objectives.
• Deliver organized instruction sequentially following curriculum outlines.
• Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating, and supportive to all students.
• Be comfortable with the use of online tools and resources.
• Attend faculty and curriculum development meetings.
• Participate in activities that promote the best interests of our students and our school.
• Engage in professional development programs to keep current with modern pedagogy.
• Perform all duties associated with teaching at the middle school level.
• Prepare students with the appropriate skills and strategies to successfully master the content with the ability to move to the next Spanish course.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field with a focus on Spanish language instruction.
• Entry-level experience in teaching Spanish or a related subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
