About the position

Socrates Academy is seeking a full-time Spanish Teacher for middle school students. The role emphasizes strong teaching abilities, an understanding of pedagogy, and a commitment to connecting learning with real-life applications. The teacher will collaborate with grade-level teams and report to the school leadership team, focusing on the implementation of North Carolina World Language Standards and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Team planning of unit lessons and grade level curriculum
• Strong understanding and implementation of North Carolina World Language Standards
• Student data analysis
• Classroom management utilizing a school-wide positive behavior support model
• Use of technology in the classroom
• Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each learner
• Continual professional development to keep up to date on curriculum developments and trends in education and World Language learning
• Commitment to professional growth through participation in professional learning communities and development opportunities

Requirements

• Experience in teaching Spanish, especially in Grades 5-8
• Extensive knowledge of the North Carolina World Language Standards
• Willingness to teach in a team model
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
• Ability to think, work, and teach interdisciplinary content
• At least two years of teaching experience in an upper-elementary or middle school setting
• Current NC K-12 Spanish Education Certification / NC World Language Certification
