About the position

The Spanish Teacher position is designed for educators who will teach Spanish to students in grades 6 through 12, encompassing both middle school and high school levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters students' language acquisition and cultural understanding. The role requires a deep understanding of the New Jersey World Language Standards and the ACTFL Standards, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with state and national expectations. The teacher will be expected to implement differentiated instruction strategies to cater to the varying needs of students across different course levels, including Middle School, College Preparatory (CP), Honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) classes. Collaboration with fellow department members is essential, as the teacher will work as part of a team to enhance the overall language program. The ideal candidate will have experience with Danielson's Framework for Teaching, which emphasizes effective teaching practices and student engagement. Additionally, the teacher should be proficient in using Google Apps for Education to facilitate learning and communication. Knowledge of World Language Honors Societies and Dual Enrollment opportunities is considered a plus, as these elements can enrich the educational experience for students. The position is set to begin in the 2024-2025 school year, and the salary will be determined based on the district's salary guide.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid NJ Instructional Certificate (Teacher of Spanish).

  • Experience with Danielson's Framework for Teaching (preferred).
  • Ability to differentiate instruction by course level (Middle School, CP, Honors, AP).
  • Willingness to collaborate with fellow department members.
  • Experience with Google Apps for Education.
  • Knowledge of World Language Honors Societies (preferred).
  • Experience with Dual Enrollment opportunities (preferred).
