About the position

The Spanish Tutor position is a contract role based in Tallahassee, FL, where the candidate will be responsible for providing Spanish tutoring services to students. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess a high school diploma or GED. The role requires 1-3 years of experience in tutoring, specifically in Spanish, and the ability to develop tailored lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students. Lessons will be delivered in-person, virtually, or through a combination of both, depending on mutual agreement with the student and the contract manager. The contractor is expected to deliver .5-hour lessons three days a week, adhering to a schedule proposed by the contract manager. A final schedule must be agreed upon no later than 48 hours before the first lesson of the week. Additionally, the contractor must complete a weekly timesheet detailing all hours worked, which must be approved by the contract manager and submitted alongside the weekly invoice. This position offers a pay rate of up to $27.49 per hour and requires a commitment to maintaining communication with the contract manager regarding lesson plans and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans tailored to meet the student's needs, with each plan lasting up to 1.5 hours for a .5-hour lesson.
• Submit lesson plans for approval 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson.
• Document and submit lesson plans to the contract manager for review and approval one week prior to the scheduled lesson.
• Deliver .5-hour lessons three days a week as scheduled by the Department.
• Communicate with the contract manager regarding the proposed schedule one week in advance of lesson delivery.
• Respond to the contract manager's proposed schedule within 24 hours, either accepting or proposing an alternative schedule.
• Complete a weekly timesheet detailing all hours worked in .5-hour increments, which must be approved by the contract manager and submitted with the weekly invoice.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-3 years of experience providing Spanish tutoring services is required.
