About the position

The Sparrow Supervisor at Moxy St. Petersburg is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Sparrow Rooftop Bar, ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to established standards. This role combines supervisory responsibilities with bartending duties, requiring a sophisticated and fun approach to service in an upscale setting. The position involves collaboration with the F&B Director to create new beverage ideas and specials, as well as managing staff and operational compliance in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Sparrow Rooftop Bar.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to established standards.
  • Conduct inventories and purchasing as necessary.
  • Collaborate with F&B Director on new beverage ideas and specials.
  • Supervise order taking and delivery to guests in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage guest checks and payment collection in compliance with cash handling policies.
  • Report emergencies, accidents, and safety hazards to management.
  • Ensure compliance with guest service basics such as uniforms and proper greetings.
  • Assist guests with knowledge of hotel facilities and services.
  • Ensure consistent communication in line with privacy policies.
  • Impress guests with quality and timely service.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.
  • Report maintenance problems through proper channels.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary and safety procedures.
  • Write shift reports on incidents when assigned.
  • Respond to guest requests and concerns to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of craft cocktail experience.
  • Experience in leading a team and executing a beverage program.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff and daily operations.
  • Ability to interview, hire, schedule, motivate, and train staff.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage ordering and service guidelines.
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local serving guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Micros preferred.
