About the position

The Spec Data Quality and Integrity position is primarily responsible for ensuring that data quality standards are met within the school system. This role involves on-site implementation, troubleshooting, assistance, training, and leadership regarding the information managed at the school level for both internal and external data requirements. The individual in this position will evaluate school compliance with established data quality and procedural standards, reporting any non-compliance issues to school administration along with suggested corrective plans. Additionally, the role requires assisting school staff in resolving data errors reported by various regulatory agencies, including the Tennessee Education Information System and the MNPS data warehouse. The Spec Data Quality will also provide input on changes in staff assignments and responsibilities that can enhance data quality and ensure compliance with internal and external data requirements. This position interprets data for school leadership, advising on the types of data that are relevant to the decision-making process. Keeping up-to-date with changes in student management software systems, state reporting changes, and district policy changes is crucial for success in this role. Furthermore, the individual will review and research Average Daily Membership to ensure that state funding is maximized. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of data within the school system and supporting the overall mission of the Information Management and Decision Support department.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates school compliance with established data quality and procedural standards and reports non-compliance issues to school administration with a suggested plan to correct.
  • Provides supplemental on-site implementation, troubleshooting, assistance, training, and leadership on issues regarding information managed at the school-level for internal and external data requirements.
  • Assists school staff in the resolution of data errors reported by the Tennessee Education Information System, the MNPS data warehouse, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Provides input on changes in staff assignments and responsibilities that improve data quality and school compliance with internal and external data requirements.
  • Works to resolve any data issues with the team.
  • Interprets data for school leadership and advises on types of data relevant to the decision-making process.
  • Keeps up-to-date with student management software system changes, state reporting changes, and District policy changes.
  • Reviews and researches Average Daily Membership to ensure state funding is at a maximum.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years applicable experience in database entry, retrieval, and reporting including customer service support experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must pass a computer proficiency test with a minimum score of 90%.
