The Grounds Spec position at Harrisburg Area Community College involves providing horticultural expertise for the installation, maintenance, and repair of campus facilities. Responsibilities

• Provide horticultural expertise and research trends to plan, design, and develop new plants, crops, gardens, and container gardens.
• Landscape and maintain grounds, gardens, and plant collections using various hand or power tools or grounds equipment.
• Perform greenhouse production/propagation of annuals, tropicals, perennials, and shrubs as needed for campus gardens.
• Perform floral design and decorations for special events.
• Assist in scheduling and monitoring work performed by outside contractors.
• Maintain and repair assigned equipment as needed; perform ongoing checks to ensure operational safety.
• Record maintenance schedules, statistics, and activities as required on assigned computer systems and specified forms and documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree and 3 years of experience, or a combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Pesticide Applicator Certification (current or ability to obtain).
