About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. is a full-time role focused on supporting the HR department's daily functions. This position involves working closely with the HR Manager to enhance employee relations, manage recruitment processes, and ensure compliance with legal requirements. The specialist will analyze HR metrics, provide guidance on workforce planning, and assist in resolving complex employee relations issues, all while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team and business leaders to develop solutions, programs, and policies related to retention and engagement.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, building morale, and increasing retention.
  • Provide guidance and input on talent needs, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, timely, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Perform generalist functions such as payroll and administrative tasks related to staffing changes or leaves of absence.
  • Consult with and provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management.
  • Drive full cycle recruiting activities by understanding hiring manager needs and delivering an effective interviewing, selection, and onboarding process.
  • Identify training needs and evaluate effectiveness to ensure success and follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Utilize HRIS for analytics and data work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to flex work hours in support of timelines/deliverables/operations.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
