About the position

The Material Worker position at PPL Electric Utilities involves managing materials and inventory within the Regional Service Center storerooms and warehouses. The role includes receiving, issuing, returning, and maintaining materials, as well as coordinating tools and equipment to support various work activities. This position is unionized and is based at the Scranton Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Uses software and associated hardware devices to perform Material Worker duties.
• Picks, packs, delivers, and ships materials, tools, and other items as requested.
• Receives material in the warehouse and processes it in the current system.
• Processes returns of materials.
• Stocks materials in the warehouse.
• Organizes and maintains materials in the Service Center laydown yard.
• Picks, organizes, and bins materials to support upcoming jobs.
• Conducts inventory checks and cycle counts as directed.
• Uses powered industrial lift trucks to move materials.
• Operates common hand tools, banding machine, hand coiling machine, scales, and other necessary tools.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the PPL Logistics Aptitude Test or its replacement.
• Possess a valid Class 'C' motor vehicle operator's license.
• Adequate physical ability to perform manual work associated with job duties.
