About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking a Special Assignment Custodial Worker. This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, and offers an hourly rate of $18.15. Requirements

• Must possess a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
• Two years of experience as a Custodial Worker and able to do heavy lifting, or five years experience as a Custodial Worker
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment
• Ability to get along well with others
• Good physical condition to perform essential job tasks
• Must possess a valid New York State Driver's License at time of employment

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops floors and stairs
• Dusts desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment
• Washes windows, walls, blackboards, sinks and other fixtures
• Cleans restrooms, including replacing paper towels, bath tissue and soaps
• Buffs and waxes floors and stairwells
• Polishes furniture and metal furnishings
• Empties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish
• Arranges chairs and tables and other equipment for special use of school building
• Clears snow and ice from walkways
• Performs other related duties as assigned
