About The Position

The Special Assistant to the Chief Conservation Officer at Ocean Conservancy provides essential executive support, managing a demanding schedule and undertaking special projects that require sound judgment and confidentiality. Requirements

  • Five years of experience supporting a senior leader in management, operations, advocacy, or policy roles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness with confidential information.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with self-editing ability.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Zoom conferencing software.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as key liaison to the Conservation VPs and provide support to other organizational leaders as needed.
  • Manage the Chief of Conservation's time, including oversight of meetings, travel arrangements, and logistical details.
  • Monitor deadlines and provide appropriate reminders to the Chief of Conservation.
  • Coordinate preparation, production, and distribution of background and briefing materials for meetings and travel.
  • Organize team meetings, circulate meeting notes, and follow up on action items.
  • Complete and submit expense reports and reimbursement requests; process consultant invoices.
  • Coordinate and attend key meetings, including booking venues and preparing agenda materials.
  • Support project management and research needs as required.
  • Provide administrative support to three additional Conservation leaders, including expense reports and meeting coordination.
