About the position
The Special Caregiver at Outreach Health Services plays a crucial role in providing care for disabled or elderly clients, stepping in as a backup when the primary caregiver is unavailable. This position emphasizes empathy, compassion, and respect, aligning with the company's core values. The caregiver is expected to lead positively, mentor others, and uphold the integrity of Outreach Health in the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, conversation, and assistance to clients.
- Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Deliver personal care services to clients.
- Remind clients to take their medications and monitor for health changes.
- Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months working experience as a caregiver, or enrollment in a vocational education program, and/or certification as a Nursing Assistant.
- Pass a criminal background screening.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexibility to service several different clients a day.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and on weekends and holidays.
- Compliance with applicable healthcare laws and statutes, including patient privacy.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and own a legally registered vehicle with minimum liability insurance coverage.
- Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
