About the position

Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is seeking a Special Education Teacher for elementary students with Autism in Phoenix, AZ. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education staff and participate in various meetings to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent special education instruction to students with disabilities.
• Demonstrate best practices to enhance student performance.
• Plan and supervise instructional assistants.
• Promote the inclusion of students as appropriate for individual needs.
• Develop effective lesson plans based on IEP development.
• Collaborate with general education staff to provide necessary accommodations and modifications.
• Attend district training in math and literacy learning.
• Participate in Faculty meetings and contribute to staff development.
• Engage in Student Success Team (SST) meetings and Multidisciplinary Conference (MDC) meetings.

Requirements

• Teaching Certification
• Special education experience
• Ability to plan effective lesson plans
• Strong communication skills
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with LD, ED, MIMR categories
• Knowledge of effective inclusive practices
• Ability to work cooperatively with parents.
