About the position
The Special Education Aide/PCA position at Southeast Delco School District involves supporting students with special needs in a classroom environment. Responsibilities
- Assist students with special needs in daily activities and educational tasks.
- Support teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Participate in required training sessions and professional development activities.
- Assist with the physical needs of students, including lifting and mobility support.
Requirements
- Must have an Associate's degree or higher, or pass a local assessment test, or hold at least 45 college credits.
- CPR Certification is required.
- Experience working with students is preferred.
- Completion of yearly paraprofessional training (minimum of 20 hours).
- Must complete PDE state-approved crisis intervention restraint training shortly after being hired.
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination and criminal history records as per Pennsylvania School Code.
