About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the implementation of classroom programs, which include self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. The role involves working under the general supervision of a principal or certified teacher and collaborating with the special education teacher to address the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a special education setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.
• Work under the general supervision of the principal or certified teacher.
• Collaborate with the special education teacher to provide for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Preferred Associate's Degree, a minimum of 48 college hours, or pass equivalency test for Highly Qualified Status
• Certification in CPR, first aid, and AED may be required.

Nice-to-haves

• One year experience working with children in an instructional setting preferred.
