About the position

The Special Education Bookkeeper at SAU #53 is responsible for managing financial aspects related to special education services. This role involves close collaboration with various administrative personnel to ensure accurate tracking and billing of services, as well as maintaining organized financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all special education mileage forms and reimbursements.
  • Manage billing and tracking for itinerant employees and preschool programs.
  • Maintain Medicaid lists for staff in districts.
  • Prepare fund transfers, journal entries, and invoices as needed.
  • Maintain attendance records for preschool and alternative programs for billing purposes.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports, projections, and account history.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Experience in bookkeeping or financial management, particularly in a special education context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and frequently with various stakeholders.
