About the position

Brookfield Schools, a progressive private institution, is dedicated to providing trauma-sensitive, informed, and focused educational and therapeutic services for students with special emotional and behavioral needs. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Highly Qualified Math Teacher for our Brookfield Academy located in Cherry Hill, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics while maintaining the professional ethical standards expected of educators. This role requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs. The Teacher will have the primary responsibility for developing and implementing an instructional program tailored to meet the unique needs of each student in their homeroom and/or academic area. This includes creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles. The successful candidate will work closely with students who may have emotional and behavioral challenges, and experience in this area is preferred. The position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 12 months, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer a competitive salary starting from $55,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement instructional programs in mathematics for students with special needs.

  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to support student learning and development.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

  • Teaching Certification in Secondary Mathematics (required).
  • NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification (preferred).
  • Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral needs (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in trauma-sensitive educational practices.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic educational approaches.
