About the position

The Special Education Para - Extended Day Preschool position at Firgrove Elementary is designed to provide services to students aged 3-5 who have developmental delays. The role involves working primarily with one student and may require flexibility to ride the bus. The position is scheduled for 5.75 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:20 AM to 2:35 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid break. The employment calendar spans 190 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to preschool students with developmental delays.
• Assist in the implementation of educational programs and activities.
• Work primarily with one student, offering personalized assistance.
• Maintain flexibility to ride the bus with students.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Fulfill one of the following conditions: hold an associate degree or higher, earn 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher, score 455 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment, score 220 or higher on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessment, score 65% or higher on The Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program, or complete an apprenticeship as a paraeducator.
