About the position

The Special Education Paraprofessional will support students with behavioral challenges in a classroom setting, working closely with teachers and behavior therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. This role is essential for fostering a structured and supportive learning environment for at-risk students during the '24-'25 school year.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with your assigned student.
• Enforce school and class rules to help teach students proper behavior.
• Help supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch and recess.
• Assist in coordinating and implementing student crisis intervention as well as problem resolution strategies.
• Assist staff with the development and implementation of behavior management plans, control techniques, and program design.
• Assist in maintenance of pupil behavioral records and/or incident reports.
• Review and provide analysis of student performance data.

Requirements

• Experience with behavioral students and/or IEPs.
• Experience following and implementing behavioral plans.
• Ability to take direction.
