About the position
The Special Education Principal/Manager at Pankalo Education Center is responsible for overseeing all school operations, including policy development, budget management, curriculum standards, and staff supervision. The role emphasizes creating a safe and supportive learning environment for students with emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, and other disabilities. The principal/manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes and ensure adherence to district goals and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all school operations including policy development and implementation.
- Manage the operational budget and monitor expenditures.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and maintain curriculum standards.
- Establish and enforce student behavior standards and guidelines.
- Supervise staff, including conducting performance evaluations and ensuring training compliance.
- Develop partnerships with businesses and communities to meet educational needs.
- Participate in various meetings including district meetings and parent conferences.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Educational Administration or related field.
- Experience in school administration.
- Licensed or ability to obtain a Director of Special Education license from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.
- Teaching license in a special education field (K-12).
Nice-to-haves
