About the position
The position involves designing and implementing specialized programs tailored for students who have significant learning, adaptive skills, and social skills needs. The role requires collaboration with general education teachers to provide individualized instruction and consultation, ensuring that the unique needs of each student are met. Additionally, the position includes assessing student performance and reporting on their progress, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of behavior plans. Supervising paraprofessionals and serving as a liaison for special education are also key responsibilities, along with other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements a specialized program for students with significant learning, adaptive skills, and social skills needs
- Designs and provides individualized and/or small group instruction and consultation to general education teachers
- Assesses and reports on student performance
- Assists in development of and implements behavior plans
- Supervises assigned paraprofessionals
- Works collaboratively and effectively with a team of teachers, related service providers, administrators, and parents
- Serves as special education liaison for assigned students
- Other duties as assigned.
