About the position

The Special Education Teacher for the Elementary MoCI (Moderate Cognitive Impairment) program is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with moderate cognitive impairments. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The teacher will work closely with students to enhance their academic, social, and emotional skills, ensuring they have access to a meaningful education in a supportive environment. In addition to direct instruction, the Special Education Teacher will collaborate with other educators, specialists, and parents to create a cohesive support system for students. This includes participating in team meetings, conducting assessments, and monitoring student progress. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student performance and IEP goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of special education laws and best practices, as well as the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. The teacher will foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and promotes independence.   • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
