Rivermont Schools, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is integral to the success of our students, providing academic instruction and mentoring in a collaborative team environment. The Special Education Teacher will work under the supervision of the Principal, Assistant Principal, and BCBA/BCaBA, overseeing the classroom team and ensuring that the individual curriculum and self-care needs of students are met. Candidates interested in provisional licensure must meet all requirements and be willing to complete the necessary VDOE coursework within 90 school days to become provisionally licensed. The role requires a commitment to developing and implementing appropriate educational services for students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a Virginia Department of Education License, be License Eligible, or Provisional License Eligible, and have at least three years of teaching experience with children who have behavior or learning disorders. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role. A valid Virginia Driver's License is preferred but not mandatory. Special Education Teachers at Rivermont Schools will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement services tailored to the needs of students.
