About the position
The position is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Mathematics at Macopin Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will provide specialized learning experiences in a supportive and positive classroom climate, aimed at developing each student's skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the Common Core Standards as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher will utilize approved curricula and directives from the school, and will be responsible for ongoing collaboration with administration, case managers, general education teachers, related services staff, and parents. Additionally, the teacher will utilize data to construct and offer differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of the student population.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized learning experiences in a supportive and positive classroom climate.
- Develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge in students to meet and exceed Common Core Standards as outlined in IEPs.
- Collaborate with administration, case managers, general education teachers, related services staff, and parents.
- Utilize data to construct and offer differentiated instruction.
Requirements
- Appropriate NJ State Certification in Mathematics and Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped.
- Enthusiasm and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working with Middle School aged students preferred.
