About the position
The Special Education Teacher for Mild/Moderate disabilities will provide specialized instruction to students across various educational levels, including elementary, middle, high school, and adult transition. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, focusing on academic, social-emotional, and daily living skills. The teacher will also serve as a consultant to school staff regarding special education services.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students requiring remedial and specialized assistance in various skill areas.
- Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Consult with school staff to provide educational services in special education.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Valid California teaching credential appropriate for special education.
- English Learner Authorization (if not embedded in credential).
- Three current professional letters of recommendation, including one from a direct supervisor.
- Unofficial copies of all college/university transcripts.
