About the position

The position is for a Special Education Teacher at Creston Elementary, San Gabriel Elementary, or Monterey Road Elementary. The salary is based on the Special Education Program Teachers Salary Schedule, ranging from $60,704 to $99,554, with potential increases for advanced degrees and certifications. The role involves working for 190 days a year, which includes training and IEP review days. The salary may be prorated based on the date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Facilitate IEP meetings with parents and other educators.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' needs.
• Differentiate instruction for a variety of learning levels.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential for Mild/Moderate Disabilities (or in progress).
• Bridge Authorization: Mild to Moderate Support Needs (MMSN).
• Autism Spectrum Disorder Added Authorization.
• Appropriate ELL Authorization (CLAD or equivalent).
• Ability to develop and facilitate IEPs.
• Tuberculosis Clearance.
• Ability to pass DOJ Background/Fingerprint Check.
• CPR Certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum of three years teaching experience in Special Education programs.
• Ability to differentiate for a variety of instructional levels.
• Ability to collaborate and consult with general education teachers.
• Thorough understanding of Response to Intervention (RtI).
• Knowledge and/or understanding of conflict management.
• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Certification.
• Master's Degree.
