About the position

The Special Education Teacher for Secondary Grades 7-12 is responsible for providing educational support and instruction to students with special needs within the district. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators, and ensuring that students receive the necessary accommodations to succeed academically.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of subjects.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons and materials for students with disabilities.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

• NYS Special Education Teacher Certification (Secondary Grades 7-12).
