About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is located in Joliet, Illinois, and is a full-time, on-site role focusing on providing specialized education to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Pre-K level. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic and social success. Your expertise will help shape the educational experiences of children with special needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive in their educational journey. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing students' needs, designing appropriate instructional strategies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support. You will also engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and stay current with best practices in special education. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Assess students' educational needs and progress regularly.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a classroom setting.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
