About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is located in Vernon Hills, IL, and is a full-time, on-site role that requires a commitment of 40 hours per week. The focus will be on elementary school students, providing specialized education tailored to their unique needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic and social development of students with disabilities. You will work closely with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the specific needs of each student. Your expertise will be vital in adapting lesson plans, utilizing various teaching strategies, and assessing student progress to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Experience working with elementary school students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
