Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district who is looking for a contract Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is located in Lake City, SC, and is a full-time role requiring on-site presence. The schedule consists of 37.5 hours per week, focusing on Kindergarten and Elementary School grade levels. The teacher will manage a caseload of students from 5K to 2nd grade in a self-contained, multi-categorical classroom setting. This role is crucial in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the education and resources necessary to thrive in their academic environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student education.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to meet educational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and school administration.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Experience working with self-contained classrooms.
