About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is located in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing tailored educational experiences to students in Kindergarten through Middle School, managing a caseload of 10-20 students. The role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of each student. In this full-time position, you will work on-site, dedicating 40 hours a week to your students. Your responsibilities will include developing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators and support staff, and engaging with families to ensure that each student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. You will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing professional development and training, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of best practices in special education. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student needs and progress.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including one-on-one and small group instruction.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
