Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is based in Summerville, SC, and is designed for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students in an elementary school setting, providing tailored educational support to meet their unique learning requirements. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. In this position, you will collaborate with a team of educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the specific needs of each student. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth. Your expertise will be crucial in adapting lesson plans, utilizing various teaching strategies, and assessing student progress to ensure that all students achieve their educational goals. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance the educational experience for students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in an elementary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
