About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. You will work closely with students in Kindergarten through Middle School, managing a caseload of 10-20 students. The role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and development. In this full-time position, you will be expected to collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure that each student receives the necessary resources and support to succeed academically and socially. You will also be responsible for assessing student progress, adapting teaching methods, and providing additional support as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education laws and best practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth.
  • Provide additional support and resources to students as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
