About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is partnering with an exceptional school district to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is located in Greenwood, South Carolina, and is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. You will work closely with students across various grade levels, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School, ensuring that they receive the support and resources necessary to thrive academically and socially. In this role, you will collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment. You will assess students' progress, adapt teaching methods, and utilize various instructional strategies to engage students effectively. Your commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive atmosphere will be crucial in helping students achieve their educational goals. This is a full-time, on-site position with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the school community and make a lasting impact on your students' lives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies to engage students effectively.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
