About the position
The Special Education Teacher at Williston Basin School District #7 is responsible for providing educational support and instruction to students with special needs in elementary schools. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators and staff, and ensuring that students receive the necessary resources and support to succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive education practices.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching license in Special Education for the state of North Dakota.
- Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in behavior management techniques.
- Experience with assistive technology for special education.
