About the position

As a Special Education Teacher at Seneca Family of Agencies, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs. This position is part of the Unconditional Education Constellation program, where you will be responsible for delivering multi-grade, standards-based instruction and academic interventions at Creekside Middle School, Washington Manor Middle School, or Arroyo High School. Your primary focus will be to ensure that students' needs are met in accordance with their Individualized Educational Program (IEP) and Treatment Plan, fostering an environment that celebrates their strengths while addressing their unique challenges through targeted interventions. In this role, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including School Therapists, Classroom Counselors, and Educational Leaders, to create an inclusive and enriching learning environment. You will utilize backwards design principles to deliver a differentiated curriculum aligned with state content standards, employing student-centered instructional methods as defined by the school's Learning Principles. Your responsibilities will also include using authentic and norm-referenced assessment strategies to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning. Engaging caregivers in the educational process will be a key aspect of your role, providing them with frequent opportunities to discuss their child's growth and needs. You will co-lead the classroom team to maintain a structured therapeutic learning environment based on Seneca's philosophy, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally. Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized academic intervention programs to target at-risk learners

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • California Education Specialist teaching credential (Prelim Ed Specialist, Intern, STSP/PIP or Special Education)
  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • Demonstrated interest in Special Education and Teaching
