About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Suisun City, California. This full-time position involves working with students across various age groups, focusing on developing and implementing educational plans tailored to meet individual student needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and be comfortable working with students with mild to moderate disabilities. The role requires a commitment to fostering independent learning skills and enhancing student engagement through meaningful lesson plans that align with prescribed curricula. As a Special Education Teacher/Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for creating lesson plans that promote increased student learning and independence. You will also participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner. The assignment is full-time, requiring a commitment of five days a week, with a caseload focused on mild to moderate disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Create and adapt educational plans to address individual student needs.
  • Follow prescribed curriculum while supplementing and adapting lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.
