About the position

As a Special Education Teacher at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, you will be part of a supportive teaching environment that prioritizes low student-teacher ratios, allowing you to make a significant impact on student outcomes. This role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team that employs a strengths-based approach, focusing on applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports. You will have the opportunity to implement structured educational programs tailored for developmentally disabled students, including those with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Your responsibilities will also encompass providing additional services such as testing, assessment, and Individualized Service Plan (ISP) updates, as well as other duties as directed by the School Principal. Devereux is committed to fostering a rewarding experience for its teachers, offering greater autonomy and flexibility in teaching plans, with fewer state and federal mandates. You will be supported by teacher's assistants in your classroom, ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing and safety of all students. The organization also provides quality low-cost benefits, student loan debt assistance, and a 30-day benefit eligibility waiting period for new hires. Additionally, you will have access to the Savi Student Loan Checkup tool, which helps navigate the student loan system and identify potential savings.
